HACDA is an all-volunteer, non-profit, CDSS affiliate dance organization formed in the summer of 1999, whose primary mission is to maintain traditional American contra dancing in the Harrisburg area.

HACDA is the successor to the Locust Lane Contra Dance, which was started in 1991 by Joan Bare as a monthly dance series. We have had 2-3 dances a month, on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Fridays, year-round, But with Covid, hope to sometime return to one dance most months.
